Soon, I will have a new baby at home (shes due Sept.1). I was pondering the thought of being a stay-at-home Dad. The only reason Ive given it thought is because we have a curious creature in our neighbourhood, much admired for his bravery and frequently commented upon for his rareness& he is a stay-at-home dad.



This daddy does what most women do on mat leave. He spends a lot of hours outside pushing a stroller, trailed by a kid on a tricycle. Hes never seen without sippy cups and sunscreen. He wipes noses and kisses scraped knees.



But there are some things I'm pretty sure he doesnt do. Like frequent the moms and tots groups at the local community centre. Or show up at the weekly coffee groups in neighbourhood homes. Or phone up a friend in tears because he was going to lose his mind from the sleep deprivation and the drudgery and being locked in the house for two rounds of chickenpox. He just has it figured out.



So are you born with it? Or do you learn it? You know It or also known as amazing parenting skills (complete with superhero cape). Last time I checked its not available in my favorite colour or size. So bare with me, Im soon to be new at it and hoping to keep mistakes to a minimum.
